Inner Pages:
Black print on white 80gsm bond paper. Colour printing is available at 8p per page, per book.

Trimmed Size:
204 x 145mm or smaller. Portrait or Landscape. The smallest size we can supply is A6.

Alternatives:
Cover: Matt lamination add 4p per book.
Inner Pages: 100gsm white paper, 130gsm gloss art paper.

The prices shown include all discounts and no credit facilities are available.

Collection:
As these prices include delivery, a small discount is available if you can collect your work from our premises in SE6.

Orders over £100 are sent by ParcelForce 24hr service. Orders under £100 are sent by ParcelForce 48hr. Upgrades are available.

Bar Code:
£25 from your ISBN number. Please allow enough white area on your cover for us to position the Bar Code.

Reprints:
Assuming there are no changes to your file at all then reprints at a later date are charged at the "Extra Books" price (min. £70).

Print Method:
Digital Colour for the outer cover. Digital black & white for the insides.

Hard Copy:
We can work from hard copy but only for pages containing text. See price supplement in the panel on your left.

Electronic Files:
We can accept PDF's and most popular software applications by email (max. 10mb), disk or via our FTP site for large files. Look for the link on the left. If you are not supplying a PDF then please see note in the panel on your left.

Margins & Bleed:
The cover can have bleed. Please supply this at 3mm. It is not necessary to supply your document with cut marks.

Bleed is not possible for the inner pages and you must leave a margin on all 4 edges of at least 13mm and 15mm on the binding edge. However, for thicker books we suggest you leave 20mm on the binding edge. If we are to reduce your pages from A4 to A5 then you need to leave 20mm on all 4 edges but with a minimum of 23mm on the binding edge (30mm for thick books).

Solids:
Large areas of solid colour may not be possible for us to print - please contact us for a chat.

VAT:
This is extra where applicable. Most books are zero rated unless they are intended to be written in. Some exemptions apply. Please ask us for clarification.

Set Up Cost, Proof Reading, Bound Sample & Loose Leaf Sample:

It is very important to understand that included in the above prices is a £60 charge for :

Setting up your job in a suitable postscript format for printing.
The I.T. charge to us for backing up your job to 2 different servers - one of which is off site.
Providing you with a bound sample copy which will be supplied unlaminated.

The purpose of the sample copy is not for you to proof read - we assume you have already done this. Rather it is just for you to see how the finished print run will look and for you to make sure there are no major problems with your design.

If you decide to make changes to the book after receiving the sample (no matter how small) then the work we have done so far will have to be deleted from the back-up servers and we will have to start all over again. We are unable to make any changes to the postscript file we have already created for you as these file types are not editable. Therefore a further £60 set up charge will apply.

If you want a loose leaf run out first for you to proof read prior to us carrying out the set up then this is available at £15 and includes a run out of the cover. If you have not self published a book before we strongly recommend that you choose this option.

What We Need

The prices shown above are based on you supplying us with a PDF of the whole job. We are happy to give you assistance with the spine.
We can often work with Word or Publisher files etc. but there is a supplement of £30 for the extra work involved. Make sure you have laid it out exactly as you want it. We DO NOT offer a layout service from text files.
We can also work from hard copy and there is a supplement of £60+ for this but we would need to have a chat first to find out exactly what is involved.

Spine Width

When designing your cover you need to allow for the spine. This obviously depends on the number of pages in your book. Either ask us to calculate this for you or use the following formulae. Bear in mind that a sheet of paper is 2 pages. If you do not want a spine marking and the background of your cover is just white then you need only supply the back & front cover as 2 separate files and we'll add the spine ourselves.
