For Customers:

What information do we collect about you?

We may hold personal data about you such as your name, address, phone, email, last 4 digits of your credit card. This could be for invoice, contact or delivery purposes so may be different for all 3.

How did we get this information?

We collect this information during our normal business dealings to enable us to carry out our contract with you or to provide you with a customised quotation. The information we hold has been supplied directly by you either by phone, email, letter, face to face, or extraction from a product we have printed for you or by other direct communication with you. No information we hold about you has been obtained from 3rd parties and we have never bought mailing or customer lists.

What information do we NOT collect about you?

We DO NOT collect sensitive personal data, or any other data not necessary for us to hold in the normal course of our business dealings with you. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under the age of 18.

Why do we hold information about you?

Our lawful basis for holding this information is one of contract and we need basic information about you so that we can best provide you with our print and print related services. This could be for the preparation and communication of a customised quotation along with the storage of it so that it can be referred to at a later date or for the actual processing and dispatch of your order or subsequent orders.

How do we store this information?

Your personal details are held electronically in our database and on paper records such as invoices.

Who do we share this information with?

We need to provide relevant information to third parties such as couriers so that they can deliver your work, contact you to keep you informed of the progress of your delivery and also so that they can communicate directly with you in the event of a local delivery problem. We may also share your details where there is a contractural, legal, or statutory requirement, to do so.

Do we sell your information to third parties?

We have never sold any personal details to a third party and will never do so. The only exception to this would be in the event of the sale or transfer of Catford Print Centre to a third party as a going concern

How long do we hold your details for?

Catford Print Centre regularly reviews the personal data that it holds and, where it appears that there is no ongoing business relationship, contractural, legal, or statutory obligation, the data is deleted.

Your Data Protection Rights

You have the right to update and correct the personal information we hold about you. You also have the right to request from us all personal information that we hold that relates to you, to request restriction of the processing of that data and to request that we delete that data or object to continued processing where it is excessive or no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected. If you have a complaint about the way in which we use your personal information you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner (www.ico.gov.uk).

Marketing

Our marketing list is derived from our database and not from any other source. Therefore every recipient of our marketing emails would have either asked for a customised quotation or placed an order for a printed product. Prior to the introduction of the new act we would have sent marketing emails to these customers on our database offering them similar products to those that they enquired about and will continue to do so under the ‘soft opt-in’ allowance in the regulations. However, also prior to this change, every existing customer would have received an email specifically informing them that they are on our marketing list and giving them the easy option to remove themselves from it, pointing out that if they failed to do so then we would assume that we have their consent to continue to send them marketing emails. In addition, every marketing email we have ever sent or will send will always give the customer an easy option to opt out. Following the introduction of the new act, we will always ask for your consent to send you marketing information and you have the right decline, or to opt out at any time, either by contacting us directly or by following the link to unsubscribe in the marketing email. We do not market by phone, automated calls or SMS.

Personal data within the products we print.

We are not Security Printers. Unless we are informed differently, we assume that everything we print ends up in the public domain. Therefore, whilst we protect personal data held in our database and on paper records, we cannot be responsible if any of that same data is freely published by you and ends up in the hands of someone for whom it was not intended by whatever means. Similarly we cannot be held responsible if the printed product contains personal data of a third party. In the event of you requiring special handling of the data in the products we print on your behalf, then we may be able to offer this as an additional chargeable service.

Mailing direct to your clients.

In the event of you asking us to distribute your printed product direct to your individual clients we will need you to supply their addresses either on a data base or on labels. We do not sell, copy or exchange this information and neither do we keep your database on file once your items have been dispatched.
